Getting Home

CRAVE has partnered with a local touring company, The Wine Wrangler, to provide safe rides to attendees. The Wine Wrangler shuttles will be leaving from the Veterans Hall at various times throughout the evening. Drop-off spots include Laguna Village Shopping Center, Cal Poly Student Union and Downtown Mission Plaza.

The Grapeline Shuttle will have two shuttles taking people from The Paso Robles Inn to CRAVE at the Veterans Hall in San Luis Obispo. If you are a resident of Paso Robles and would like to use this service please call 800.549.WINE(9463) to reserve your seat. There are only 28 seats available and reservations are on a first come first serve basis.

The safe ride enables all those attending CRAVE the opportunity to get as close to their final destination, without driving. The Wine Alliance encourages all to take a taxi from the appropriate drop spot if their final destination is not in walking distance. If the drop-off spots and/or times do not work for you, please contact a local taxi company. And, of course, if you are planning to drive home, make sure to designate a driver!

Responsible Tasting

There are many reasons to practice responsible tasting: upholding your dignity, showing your class and taking the opportunity to fully experience and understand each wine you enjoy from your first taste to your very last.

Using the Four S’s leaves you free to taste every wine that perks your interest and truly recognize what each wine has to offer down to the very last one.

The Four S’s of responsible tasting is great method to use - Swirl, Smell, Sip, Spit. Learn more by clicking on the steps below.

Swirl
This is trickiest of the four, getting a little too vigorous with your swirl means getting wine everywhere. The swirl allows you to open the wine to the air bringing out its best.
Smell
Feel free to allow your nose to jump right into the experience, you will see many tasters stick their nose right into the glass in order to absorb all that the wine has to offer.
Sip
And now the wine is ready to taste. Feel free to let the wine acquaint itself with your mouth for a few seconds while you notice the textures and tastes. And then…
Spit
This often feels a little unnatural, but in order to taste responsibly and respectably spit your wine into the provided cup or one of the nearby dump buckets.
